Tinker Tour: West Coast has begun!
We’re excited to be hitting the road again, and are so thankful for all the support and love we’ve received thus far. Our Start Some Good crowdsourcing campaign has garnered more than $18,000 for this leg of the tour! Unfortunately, we’ll lose it all if we don’t make it to our $25,000 tipping point…And we have less than 72 hours to go. If you’re interested in supporting our cause, we’d be grateful for any donation you can make!
While this leg of the tour will bring our nationwide tour to an end, it will also include the symbolic beginning of Tinker World Tour.
We are slated for stops in numerous states (including California, Oregon, Nebraska, Nevada and Washington, among others) and will also be making two international stops – one in Brazil and another in Canada.
Mary Beth Tinker has been invited to Brazil to give a TEDx talk – alongside soccer sensation Pele – at the International Center for Not-For-Profit Law in April.
We’ll make our last stop in early May in Canada, where we’ll be hosted by the Justice Education Center. This stop will be the symbolic kick-off for Tinker World Tour, which we hope will spread the message that every young person, in every country, has a voice, and a voice that is needed.
Our West Coast tour will be shorter, simpler and slightly different from our East Coast tour, running just over two months. We have retired our trusty and well-loved free speech RV, Gabby. While we’ll miss her, our new, yet-to-be-named, free speech minivan should triple our gas mileage and make parking and maneuvering a much simpler process.
We’re thrilled to get to spread our message to the young people out West, and to hear the messages they have to share with us!
