It was a great week in Boston visiting Cambridge Rindge and Latin HS, Graham and Parks Elementary, education students at Tufts University, law students at Suffolk Law and journalism students at Emerson College. To top it off, we celebrated Constitution Day, Sept. 17th at Francis Parker Essential HS. Here’s to the Constitution, and here’s to the great work of 5th graders at Graham and Park, on the “Tinker” case!
Ted Sizer’s visionary work in education is legendary. He believed that teachers should be “guides” for student-directed learning, and he was a founder of Francis Parker HS. At a big assembly, we celebrated kids and the Constitution.
After Boston, it was back to Washington DC for the Pope’s visit, with a rally on the National Mall for climate action.
Plenty of kids took the day off to cheer the Pope, with his message of standing up for love and understanding- for people, the earth, and all creatures.
